so during my time in university, i made a minecraft world on the version i remember playing as a kid. it was actually a lot more enjoyable than i expected. i play the newer versions of minecraft a lot with friends, but i end up getting confused by a change mojang/microsoft made or my friends will know something that propels them to complete the entirety of the game in just a few hours.
i like to build. i love building in sandbox games. i will take forever before i reach the 'end state' of an open world sandbox game because i see it as just an option.
so for this world, i was in the process of building a mansion for myself and some reliable roads to get to places. i got somewhat far. i remember listening to the please stop talking podcast a lot while just building long stretches of cobblestone in the nether. at some point, i needed an outpost to get clay for my roads. really, i enjoyed all of it.
i think what made me stop was my impatience to want to build. i don't like the total freedom that creative mode affords. i actually like the struggle i endure after having been killed by a creeper and needing to explain to my dormmate that i am a sane person for screaming at my computer. nonetheless, having to grind to get more and more blocks and pickaxes eventually started to feel like a chore.
so, having an unfinished mansion, a breached nether, and a discovered stronghold, i've retired this save.
